The Health Care Support Worker carries out a range of personal care activities and tasks in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse. To achieve this, the HCSW will: WebFor example, if you’re based in a hospital your duties may include: helping patients to move around. monitoring patients and performing basic health checks making patients feel comfortable. washing and dressing patients. serving meals and helping to feed patients.

The education pathway to become an HCA is integrated into the HCSW position with off-site, in-course education at a partnered Post-Secondary Institution.
