For data analysis, Chi-Square and Student’s t-tests were used. WebThe observed shift changes took place in a nurses’ lounge in which the nurses congregated to give report at 7am, 3pm, 7pm, and 11pm (most nurses had 12-hour shifts from 7 to 7 but some had 8-hour shifts). Each outgoing nurse handed over 3-5 patients, generally 1-2 to each of multiple incoming nurses.
