Shockley surface states
Web2 Sep 2014 · Abstract. The Shockley surface state on Cu (111) reacts sensitively to the perturbation by molecular adsorbates on the surface. In the porous structure of a metal-coordinated molecular network on Cu (111), the surface state is confined to a series of discrete states. Energy and momentum of eigenstates in the pores are related to both the … Web1 Jul 2013 · Full text: Shockley surface states are long known to be important for understanding molecular adsorption mechanisms or catalytic reactions. Here, we present a comprehensive ab-initio DFT study of all Shockley surface states of the (100), (110) and (111) facets of the fcc metals Al, Cu, Ag and Au.
